Ms Sng Siok Yen Melissa
Ms Sng Siok Yen Melissa is a dedicated community psychiatric nurse with 20 years of experience in the Institute of Mental Health (IMH)’s Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). In her current role with CMHT, she provides community-based care and facilitates recovery through psychosocial rehabilitation.
Anchored by the belief that recovery is real and possible, Ms Sng is committed to finding the best possible solutions for her clients and their caregivers, delivering excellent care. Melissa also enhances the capabilities of community partners and improves care integration through skill training and collaboration.
In 2016, she received the Health Manpower Development Award which included an invitation of training in community interventions for hoarding with Hoarding Disorders UK. This training allowed her to introduce the 8-Step Decluttering framework to CMHT, significantly improving the living spaces of individuals struggling with hoarding. Driven by her commitment to quality care, Ms Sng has led clinical practice improvement projects, earning her the NHG Quality Improvement Award in 2022.
